Decking garden

Our Decking Garden is a safe and engaging outdoor space with rubber flooring to cushion falls, allowing children to move freely and play with confidence.

This area is perfect for riding bikes and scooters, helping to develop balance, coordination, and physical strength. It also features a water wall, Wendy house, mud kitchen, and large construction area, offering plenty of opportunities for imaginative and hands-on play. Small planters give children the chance to explore nature and take part in simple gardening activities.

Children love using this space to collaborate on building projects, experiment with water play, and engage in role-play games with their friends. The open layout allows for a mix of structured and free play, supporting children's creativity and problem-solving skills. Baby garden

Our Baby Garden is a specially designed outdoor space for our youngest children, offering a safe and stimulating environment where babies can explore and develop at their own pace. With soft rubber flooring, this garden provides a cushioned and secure surface, allowing little ones to crawl, toddle, and take their first steps with confidence.

To encourage sensory play, we have a variety of age-appropriate resources, including textured play panels, colourful sensory toys, and natural elements like wooden blocks and leaves. These experiences help babies develop their fine motor skills and cognitive abilities while engaging their senses in a fun and safe setting. The Baby Garden also features shaded areas to protect little ones from direct sunlight, ensuring they can enjoy the outdoors comfortably throughout the year.

This space is carefully maintained to provide a hygienic and welcoming environment, where babies can experience fresh air, gentle movement, and new discoveries daily.

With dedicated nursery practitioners on hand to provide one-on-one interactions, the Baby Garden is not only a place for play but also for bonding, social development, and emotional security. Whether babies are watching leaves sway in the breeze, listening to birds chirp, or giggling as they splash in water play, this outdoor space fosters curiosity and early learning in a calm and supportive way.

Forest School

Our Forest School Garden is a unique outdoor space designed to provide children with hands-on learning experiences in a natural setting. This area is led by our Level 3 Forest School Leader, Gemma, who has created an environment where children can develop essential life skills, build resilience, and deepen their connection with nature.

The Forest School Garden is a dedicated space for exploration, featuring opportunities for den-building, bug-hunting and nature-based crafts. Children are encouraged to take part in activities that promote problem-solving, teamwork, and creativity while engaging with the natural world. The garden also includes loose parts play, where children use sticks, logs, stones, and other natural materials to construct their own creations, encouraging imaginative thinking and open-ended exploration.

These experiences foster a sense of responsibility, independence, and an appreciation for the outdoor environment. Through these activities, children develop perseverance, critical thinking, and self-confidence. The Forest School Garden is a truly special space at Victoria Nursery, providing children with a rich, nature-inspired learning experience that helps them grow into curious, confident, and capable individuals.

Big bears garden

The Big Bears Garden is an exciting and adventurous space dedicated to our preschool children, designed to inspire confidence, physical development, and imaginative play. Set at the bottom of our large garden, this area is specially created to give our oldest children a sense of independence while preparing them for the transition to school.

A key feature of this garden is our climbing tree, where children can safely challenge themselves, improving balance, coordination, and problem-solving skills. The mud kitchen allows for open-ended, messy play, where children can mix, pour, and create imaginative ‘recipes’ using natural materials. Our balance logs provide opportunities for children to practice gross motor skills, strengthen core muscles, and develop spatial awareness.

The natural environment in the Big Bears Garden fosters creativity, risk-taking, and curiosity, encouraging children to explore and interact with the world around them. This space is a favourite among our preschoolers, offering them the perfect environment to develop independence, enhance their physical abilities, and build confidence in preparation for school.
